You’d think I’d be wiped out after yesterday’s major launch. Nah! I’m nervous, up early after 3 hours of sleep. Need to make sure authors are cool, commenting is working and no errors are killing my site!
It’s a typical 18 hour site launch day and it was actually saner than most. I’m already planning the updates for this site, as well as preparing to launch another site within a week. I thought I’d take you through launch day and into launch night so you get a taste of what it’s like to do this for a living.
Here’s my checklist for one specific product launch. There are a bunch of standard items and a few unique to this project. I hope that you can copy and use this list in your upcoming launches.
Sometimes you run across a site that is just a completely pleasant surprise. StoreCrowd.com is that site for me.
If you have zero SEO and a short domain name your homepage is everything. Otherwise, each page on your website is a homepage and an opportunity to convert a visitor – or scare them completely away.
I can pay a little bit less for hosting, or I can pay a reasonable fee for excellent web hosting and technical support. I’m not cutting coupons for my website. It’s way too important.
