Convert RSS to HTML Content
It’s easy to use RSS content as HTML with FeedBurner’s BuzzBoost.
When you post blog content your blog software automatically creates RSS for you, and of course you get people reading your content in RSS readers because of that.
But did you know that you can use your RSS feed as HTML?
It’s actually a pretty cool thing to do. For instance, you can display snippets from your 3 most recent posts on a sister website, or provide preformatted content for other sites to display.
Using your RSS feed as HTML won’t hurt your SEO because the content isn’t spiderable, so search engines won’t see it as duplicate content.
How to display RSS as HTML
- Create a FeedBurner account and burn a feed.
- Choose the SmartFeed option for a compatible feed, then choose the Publicize tab.
- Choose the BuzzBoost option, copy your code and publish it.

Feedburner BuzzBoost
The content is generated by a javascript – the key line you’ll see looks something like this:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/seo415?format=sigpro
I use this method at work to display the 3 latest posts from each of our blogs in one ‘blog center’.
And text formatting? Stellar! I’ve tried other methods before and suffered with a world of text display problems. With FeedBurner’s BuzzBoost I never have a problem – it’s always pristine.
